[K-Drama] The Heirs (2014) Review

Only with my heart, I will steal you. Park Shin-Hye joins Lee-Min-Ho on screen in a high school drama with Chaebol heirs. I did not think of it at the time, but the setting is a bit like the Japanese's Hana Yori Dango. Cha Eun-Sang, played by Park Shin-Hye, is a daughter of maid who out of luck enters a prestigious school attended by Chaebol heirs and prominent families. A love ensues between her and Kim Tan, Lee-Min-Ho, an heir of a large conglomerate. Both longing to find a place to belong to in their world filled with turmoil. They are torn by love and society. Park Shin-Hye struggles through inner turmoil coming to terms with her mute mother and her love for Kim Tan, who is in another world, legitimate heir to the Jeguk Group. Despite being the legitimate heir, Kim Tan is actually a son of his father's mistress, and is starved for family connection. He lived his life not being able to acknowledge his birth mother and is exiled by his half-brother to the US.
